Albino Twins Amaze The World With Their Hair Whiter Than Snow

Cases of albinism are very rare, so they attract a lot of attention. And when two albino twins are born in a region where it never happened, it is normal that they are in the spotlight. Let's discover their story!

What is albinism?
Albinism is an inherited genetic disease by gene mutation due to a defect in the production of the melanic pigment formed in the skin, hair and / or eyes. Albinism occurs in all racial and ethnic groups around the world. In Europe, about one in 17,000 people have a type of albinism. In other parts of the world, such as Africa, this disease can affect 1 in 1,000 people, as in Niger. Most children with albinism are born to parents whose hair and eye color is normal for their ethnic origins.

A common myth is that people with albinism have red eyes. Although lighting conditions may allow the blood vessels to be seen in the back of the eye, which may give the eyes a reddish or purple appearance, most people with albinism have blue eyes and some have hazel or brown eyes. There are different types of albinism and the amount of pigment in the eyes varies. However, vision problems are associated with albinism.

Vision problems
People with albinism have vision problems that can not be corrected with glasses, and many have poor vision. It is the abnormal development of the retina and abnormal nerve connections between the eye and the brain that cause vision problems. The presence of these eye problems defines the diagnosis of albinism. The degree of impairment varies according to the different types of albinism.

Sensitivity of the skin
Since most people with albinism have a very fair complexion, it is important to avoid sun damage to the skin and eyes by taking precautions, such as wearing sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, sun and protective clothing.

In this article, we present the case of these albino twins who surprised their parents who did not know they were waiting for albino babies.

Two little white angels
Catalina and Virginia were born in Delfín Gallo in the province of Tucumán in northern Argentina. These two babies surprised the world.

Both twins are both born albinos. Jorge Gómez, the baby's father, said that all hospital staff were amazed at the birth of the girls, as no similar case had ever happened before. Although there has been a case of albinism in this province, the area has never seen albino twins before.

The father said that when they knew that they will have two babies, it filled them with happiness, and when they saw that the two girls were albinos, that happiness did not change at all. For parents, it's a blessing.

These girls should be given special care during their growth, mainly because their skin and eyes are extremely sensitive to the sun's UV rays.

Albinism can not be detected during pregnancy, so parents only heard the news after the girls were born. In addition, Catalina and Virginia were born prematurely at 36 weeks, which can also lead to serious health risks.

Catalina was the first to be born. She weighed 2.7 kg. Two minutes later, his sister Virginia arrived, she weighed a little less, 2.5 kg. Although girls were born small and weak, parents took good care of them, so today, Catalina and Virginia are healthy and happy children.

The whole family was very surprised because nobody imagined that the couple would have two little albino girls. The twins have a 9 year old brother, who is also delighted with her special sisters.

Another case of albinism
A similar case occurred in Brazil, where two twin sisters were born and are now 12 years old. Currently, they do modeling with their older sister, who has dark skin. Their parents are African and have moved to South America in hopes of better opportunities.

When these babies were born, the father believed that his wife had been unfaithful because it was almost impossible for them to have blond girls, so he decided to leave his wife and two daughters.

Argentine and Brazilian twins must stay away from the sun. However, it is important to remember that they are completely normal people. Feel free to share this article to inform people about albinism!
